Ok, so the defeat at Millwall took the gloss off it a bit, but it’s important to acknowledge that pre-match, Paul Lambert was again named League One Manager of the Month, after City claimed six wins in as many league games, during the month of January.
City started the new year with a 1-0 away win at Wycombe, followed by a 3-1 home win against Exeter. Then came that convincing 5-0 win at Colchester, before a ten-man City fought their way to a 1-0 win at Carrow Road against Brentford. Next came Walsall, where a late fight back secured a 2-1 win, before City finished the month, with a 2-1 win at home to Hartlepool.
Also nominated were Millwall’s Kenny Jackett, Geraint Williams of Leyton Orient, and Swindon Town’s Danny Wilson.
